KINGS OF ARMENIA. Artaxias I, 190-160 BC. Hemichalkon (Bronze, 10 mm, 0.79 g, 1 h), first series, with Aramaic legends. Head of Artaxias I to right, bearded and wearing five-pointed tiara tied with a diadem. Rev. 𐡌𐡋𐡁𐡏 - 𐡏𐡓𐡕𐡇𐡔𐡎𐡂 ('rthṣsy mlk' in Aramaic) Dog standing right. Kovacs 44. Very rare. An exceptional example, sharply struck and undoubtedly among the finest known. Nearly extremely fine.
